Tena Yistilign from Tibooburra,
I left Tibooburra ’round 8:30 after devouring a huge cooked breakfast and the “second biggest” mug of flat white coffee at the Corner Country Store (next door), refuelling the truck at the Corner Country Store, and provisioning for the drive (a muffin for morning tea, and a quiche for lunch) at the Corner Country Store.
I crossed over into South Australia through the dingo fence via the Cameron Corner gate at 10:30, and had morning coffee near the corner marker.
After morning coffee, I crossed into Queensland, and eventually back into NSW, via the Toona Gate. Lunch was had at the Halfpenny Tank, at 12:30. I’d completed my loop back to Tibooburra by 1:35, after having travelled 320km.
Whilst the entire circuit was a pleasant drive, the best part was the south-east leg from Queensland to the Toona Gate, as the road runs perpendicular to red sandhills, resulting in a roller coaster ride.
Another excellent dinner was had at the Hotel; it was a struggle to finish the huge serving of Chicken Parmigiana.
Cheers,
Julian
