About

The purpose of this journal is to provide my friends with daily (if I have internet access) updates of my activities and whereabouts whilst I’m touring the countryside in my Pajero. It also serves as a record of trips made in the past (some in a  previous Japanese Jeep (a Suzuki Grand Vitara), and some in a Mercedes-Benz SLK).

Anyone who is so inclined can subscribe to receive an email notification when an entry is made, or they can subscribe to receive updates via RSS (if you don’t know what that means, then you should select the email option).

To subscribe, click on the round blue button at the bottom left of  the page, and select the appropriate option from the pop-up menu. If you subscribe to email updates, you will be sent an email asking you to confirm your subscription request, by clicking on a link in the email.

Only the last 5 entries will be shown on the Home page. Older entries can be viewed by clicking on the Previous Entries button on the Navigation Bar, which follows the last entry on the page. Alternatively, you can click on the button at the bottom left, then click on All Posts in the pop-up menu, which will bring up a scrollable list of all posts, from newest to oldest.

Any pictures I include can be expanded clicking on them. To ensure that they are displayed at their full size, you should expand your web browser to its maximum size before clicking.

Anyone is welcome to make comments on any of the entries that are less than a fortnight old, via the comment facility at the bottom of each entry.

In addition to the main journal, there is also a page which lists brief updates that I may make, via SMS, whilst on the road. This can be  be viewed by clicking the Tweets button at the bottom of the page. Email subscribers will be notified whenever this page is updated; RSS notification is not (yet) available.

If you so desire, you can the select from one of 7 different themes (different background images and colour schemes), by clicking the button at the bottom left, clicking on Change Theme… from the bottom right of the pop-up menu, and selecting one of the themes. The theme you choose will be remembered. If you’d prefer something that doesn’t use a lot of graphics, then try the Light option.
