Hello from Tibooburra, for the last time,
I was on the road by 8:10 after a repeat of yesterday’s breakfasting, refuelling and provisioning at the Corner Country Store. Today’s drive took in the “Jump Up” Loop Road,
and the Gorge Loop Road, in the Sturt National Park. Morning coffee was had at the Warri Gate at the border ’round 10, and lunch near the Mt Wood Homestead ’round 12:15.
I was back in town by 1:10, after having travelled 204km.
Given that my room in the Toole’s Family Hotel tonight doesn’t have en-suite facilities, I decided to see if the other motel in town (which didn’t come up in my accommodation search when planning the trip) had any rooms free. It did, so I booked in. I then headed to the Hotel,
for a couple of beers, and informed Kathy that I wouldn’t be staying in the hotel tonight. Despite my protestations that I didn’t want the $35 for the room refunded, as I’d given her such short notice, she insisted on doing so.
I then returned to my new digs for a siesta, induced by the early beers.
The Scotch Fillet I had for dinner the night before last was so good that I elected to have it again tonight.
Cheers,
Julian
