Buon giorno from Broken Hill,
I departed Arkaroola this morning round 7:30, heading south some 300km to the Barrier Highway at Yunta, via gravel roads. The road was mostly in good condition, but with patches of a low frequency corrugation that I’ve not encountered before; the crests were a couple of feet apart, and the amplitude was small, so they weren’t a problem. I had a coffee break ’round 9, and on reaching Yunta at 11, I replenished my provisions, having another coffee break there, then turned east, following the Barrier Highway. I crossed over into New South Wales at 12:55, and had a lateish lunch shortly after at a roadside rest area.
Apart from missing hitting a pair of emus by about a car’s length, as they darted across the road, there’s not much to report today.
I was in my motel room by 2:00, after travelling 507km. Here’s my route on Google Maps:
Cheers,
Julian

Hi Julian,
Are you still going into SA?
Hi Irene,
I’ve been in S.A. since Day 16. 🙂
I’m homeward bound now, and should be back Tuesday afternoon.
Pedant. I thought you were coming home via Adelaide. The middle bit doesn’t count.
There is indeed bugger all ’round Coober Pedy, but Arkaroola was one of the high points of the trip!
