Hello from Maryborough,

I had a “sleep in” ’til 6:30, getting away from the motel at 8, after having a lateish breakfast. A few km south of Rockhampton, I left the Bruce Highway, following the Burnett Highway through Mt. Morgan, Biloela (where I visited the bakery for supplies around 10), Monto, Mundubbera, Gayndah and Ban Ban Springs. At Ban Ban Springs, I turned onto the Isis Highway, going through Biggenden back to the Bruce Highway at Childers. I was at the motel about 3:30.

It was a pleasant drive of 550km, with few caravans to annoy me. In fact, on the narrow winding pass up to Mt. Morgan, with a posted speed limit of 40km/h, two caravans pulled over to let me pass, even though they were quite easily doing the speed limit!

I’m heading for Tenterfield tomorrow, via Toowoomba.
