Hello again from American River,
Like yesterday, today was windy, but much cooler, with many brief showery periods throughout the day. I spent most of the day touring around the eastern part of the island, visiting various bays, coves, and beaches, and crossing the interior from north to south, covering about 260km. However, I didn’t see anything that particularly impressed me; all the coastal scenery looked much the same, like the attached shot from Bales Beach, on the southern side of the island.
Perhaps my sense of underwhelmedness is in part due to my recent visit to the Flinders Ranges; that’s a hard act to follow.
Tomorrow I’m headed for the Flinders Chase National Park, which covers a large part of the western end of the island; hopefully I’ll see something more interesting there!
Cheers,
Julian
