Yasas from Yulara,

I was underway ’round 7:30, for a relatively short (310 km) trip, to the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, first east along the Ernest Giles Road, then south along the Luritja Road, then back west, along the Lasseter Highway. I arrived at the National Park entrance about 11, paid my $25 entry fee, and headed for Kata Tjuta (the rocks formerly known as the Olgas), which are some 40 odd km away. I had lunch there, before heading back towards Uluru. I did two loops of the rock, first anti-clockwise, then clockwise (to get a different perspective). Here’s a few photos:

It was 2pm by the time I’d finished the second loop, so I headed back down the road to my digs at the Desert Gardens Hotel at the Voyages Ayers Rock Resort at Yulara, about 10 km away.

I didn’t undertake any walks today; in addition to my dicky knee, I’m also nursing a bruised toe. This morning, I stubbed it into a doorstop next to the bath, which I’d hidden with the bath mat!

Here’s today’s route on Google Maps:

Cheers,
Julian
