Ciao from Corowa,
I sadly left the lodge at 8:55, heading homeward. The most direct route would have been south to Balranald, then east to Hay, but I was reluctant to repeat my forward journey. So, on reaching Balranald, I continued south to Tooleybuc, then east-ish, generally following the Murray River (on the Victorian side). I had a Subway lunch in Swan Hill ’round 12:30 (no morning coffee; I didn’t feel the need after a lateish start, and a cooked breakfast).
I was in my motel room in Corowa by 4:30, after crossing back over into NSW at Yarrawonga. At 616km, the leg was a bit longer than I’d estimated by “eyeballing” my maps; I generally add up all the kilometrages, but was overwhelmed by the number of additions I’d have to do, compared to the two or three to which I’d become accustomed.
Cheers,
Julian
