Greetings from Taree,

I left Tenterfield at 7:30am, continuing south along the New England Highway to Glenn Innes, from where I headed east on the Gwydir Highway to Grafton. The trip through the Gibraltar Range National Park was pleasing to the senses; the multifarious greens of the lush foliage with tinges of red from new growth, the ringing notes of the bellbirds, and the strong smell of the eucalypts (sorry, I haven’t got a word for that).

I arrived in Grafton at 10:30am, to another assault on the senses; the purple awning of a myriad of Jacarandas in bloom, and their sweet smell. I managed to buy my drugs there, and also had morning coffee. Then it was south again, down the Pacific Highway to Coffs Harbour, where I refilled the tank around midday. The run from Grafton to the outskirts of “Coffs” was fine, but from then on I was wishing I’d continued down the New England Highway. I had a late lunch in Kempsey, and after travelling 557km, arrived at the motel in Taree around 3:00pm. After settling in, I went for a walk around town.

I expect to be home around midday tomorrow.

See y’all soon,
Julian
