Hello from Albury,
I decided give the Grampians a miss (as I recalled that the area was ravaged by bushfires earlier this year) and head for home. The most direct route, via Hay, Narrandera and Wagga Wagga is 960km, a bit too much for me in one day, so I decided to head for Albury (600km), along the Murray Valley Highway. I left Mildura just after 8, and arrived in Albury around 3:45, having taken morning and afternoon coffee along the road, and a Subway lunch in Echuca.
The restaurant, which is normally open Sunday to Thursday, wasn’t, as the chef had been given the night off (again!). Too lazy to go out, I took the innkeeper’s advice and had some Chinese delivered.
The trip home is about 500km, so I expect to be home mid-afternoon tomorrow.
Cheers,
Julian
