Greetings from Cobar,
I awoke (sans alarm) around 5:30 (S.A. time) to light rain and a veil of fog, so I decided to head for home via Broken Hill, over-nighting in Cobar. I was away by 6:30, and by the time I reached Yunta (10.30ish), where I filled the tank, the rain had stopped and the temperature had risen sufficiently for me to drop the roof. I arrived in Cobar at 4pm, after a long, but enjoyable, 850km leg.
I was a naughty boy, when on one of the many long straight stretches of road, with no other traffic, I broke the law, momentarily reaching a speed of 220km/h. There was a lot of wind noise and buffeting at that speed with the roof down; the claimed top speed is around 240km/h, and I expect that would be easier to achieve with the roof up!
I expect to be back home tomorrow evening.
Cheers,
Julian
