Ciao from Cober Pedy,
I departed Yulara ’round 7:30, after a hearty cooked breakfast, heading east along the Lasseter Highway, under a brilliant sunrise in pink, red and orange hues. At the Curtin Springs Roadhouse, about an hour down the road, I refueled.
I had a 10ish morning coffee (sans food; on top of the big breakfast this morning, I had a big dinner last night) shortly after reaching the Stuart Highway, and heading south. I crossed over into South Australia ’round 11. I refueled, and grabbed a chicken salad sanger for lunch, at the Marla Roadhouse ’round 12:45, and was in my underground motel room by 3:15.
I was curious as to why there’s a Revival Fellowship Hall on the same premises asĀ the motel. On reading the Guest Directory (what the hell does “We put a fleece out to God” mean?), I learn that the proprietors are members of this Christian sect; I hope they don’t take too close a look at my car and kick me out!
Today’s leg was close to 700 km. There wasn’t a great deal to see, so there’s no photos today. Here’s my route on Google Maps.
Cheers,
Julian
